Dragons

Dragon exist since a very long time in different worlds to a point it's unclear where they originate from. However, due to their abnormal characteristics, its suspected they were created by ancient gods in a distant past. Moreover the existance of Nefaria, the world-sized dragon, make it clear that their existance may be as old as the universe.

In the Age of Gods of Lostria, the dragons were a sign of power for the gods who used them as war tools or pets, despite the fact that they can be strong enough to kill a god.

When the Gods disapeared from Lostria, the dragon having lost their masters could roam and develop freely, making them the new masters of Lostria. However, dragons grows endlessly and Lostria became too big for the two largest dragons. They fought to kill one another in a cataclysmic battle that almost destroyed all life on Lostria.

Due to the cataclysm and the lack of ressource following it, the dragons declined a lot and were even exterminated on two of the three continents. The survivors developped on the third continent and the oceans for millenia and their territory started to reach the now developped civilisations of Lostira.

After a divine intervention from a new goddess, the dragons gained the ability to transforms into a humanoid shape, allowing them to coexist with others civilisation and require lot less ressources.

Endal being a world filled with powerful individuals, the dragons are on equal standing with the other races. Moreover, viewed as a legendary material to craft magic artefact, the eldest are hunted down.
