The first generation of epotykias were created by humans around seven hundred years ago in their attempt to create a superior being. While considered a failure, the epotykias were used as slaves since they can easily be controlled with their particularity to follow the will of the spirit placed in the soul stone on their forehead.

The Epotykias don't like their origins and tell a different story to the new generation. Their telling that the humans enslaved their ancestors and made atrocious experiments on them to make them obedient.

With time, some epotykias received natural spirits and didn't accept to be controlled by humans. They banded together and waged war for their independence. After several years, the humans gave up on them and allowed them to build their territory in the northern forests. However, Not all epotykias were happy about their cold new home filled with monsters and a lot of them were more satisfied with their previous life. Some conflict often happened while they were building their new society. Despite all difficulties, they managed to build their Queendom. Since their victory, they respect the spirits as the ones who helped them gain their freedom.

Once the Queendom was established, the Epotykias started to expand it and developed rapidly new science and understanding about their power to not fall behind the constant evolution of the human empire. Their power allows to build cities, roads, fortress and walls quickly, which discouraged the humans to take them back. Conflicts are still active at the border as the two factions constantly check on the military progress of the other.

While the human empire celebrate its millenium, the epotykias take the opportunity to infiltrate and destroy numerous laboratory, saving all kind of creatures and stealing relics and researches.
