Once their queendom was established, the epotykias had more time to understand their power. The first thing they understand is that an elemental spirit is in fact the soul of a magical creature which recently died. With that, they rapidly understood how to increase the number of epotykias with power while reducing the madness they can sometimes face when suddenly affected by a wild spirit. They tame magical beasts and perform a ritual to transfer its soul to the young epotykias before a wild spirit takes place.

In fact, all living creatures possess a soul and this soul breaks down in small particles at death and is absorbed by other creatures. It happens that the soul survives for some time and in rare cases, multiple souls merge together and reach a certain stability. This is the state in which we mostly encounter spirits in the wild.

Another important fact is that the soul stone of a deceased epotykia is still alive and contains a strong elemental power. This power can be used to amplify the power of other epotykias using the same element as the soul stone. The stone can be used with mana crystal to create magic weapons or tools that the living take good care of. Sadly, there is no way to communicate with a detached soul stone and it is unknown if they know what happens around them or even if they are conscious.

Since the soul of an epotykia stays trapped in her soul stone at death, an attempt to reincarnate them by grafting the soul stone instead of the one from a young epotykias. The result kinda works, but it's more a new person strongly influenced by the spirit in the soul stone. This is not a common practice, but it is used to keep their queen alive by using young epotykias specially trained to receive her spirit.

The humans only know the soul stone has energy and don't care about the soul in it. They use them as energy sources for their tools without any respect for them. The epotykias don't like that and try to collect them, by force if needed.

The epotykias need the spirit of magical creatures to be able to use their power. Because of that, a group of hunters are specialized in the capture of those creatures. The creatures captured are then tamed to grow used to living with epotykias. This helps the young epotykias receiving its spirit to not become crazy. Moreover, the epotykias are educated since youth to follow a logic instead of their feeling to not be controlled by the spirit in their soul stone.
