Culture

The quadris are a young civilization that only recently started to use tools and build houses. They mainly live from hunting, fishing and picking fruits. Some tribes recently introduced the idea of breeding and are still in the experimental phase. They mostly use wood, bones, stones and leather. They accord a great respect to life and only kill when necessary. They love nature and avoid destroying it as much as possible. The education of the younger quadris is done by all the adults of the tribes in a collective way. They accord t great respect to elders and traditions. They education is mostly based on tradition, morale and survival, with a great respect of nature and the cycle of life.

They believe the souls of the deceased return to the land of their ancestor, the great forest, which was lost to the dragons, and more recently partially destroyed by the humans.

Warrior's honor

Honor and pride came from the strongest and all the chiefs are great warriors. As the strongest make the rules, it's their role to protect the weaker members of their tribe.

Cultivate peace of mind

Due to their ability to become berserk, which they consider a curse, they developped their culture around peace and understanding one another as well as accepting fate. They pray for the soul of the deceased and accept their departur without looking for vengeance. They have numerous ceremonies and activities as well as meditation to help canalize their energy and feelings. They have excersices to learn how to manage anger and learn to let it go. They belive in a better life after death for the great and honnorable warriros. This berserk issue is one of the reason they take their tradition very seriously.

Friendly rivalry

After leaving their jungle, the quadris created numerous small tribes across the plains of the continent. Those tribes live in a friendly rivalry where they frequently compete for resources in a way to promote the survival of the strongest warriors. In difficult time where resources are scarce, the tribes compete and the stronger ones will receive ressources from the great tribes.

The great tribes

There are three great tribes that are known and respected by all. Aroe and Porru are located on the north and prevent the dragons from leaving the jungle and invading the plains. Both tribes are made of elite warriors and their leaders are able to fight large dragons on their own. Krumo, the third great tribe, is more on the wiser side. It's a tribe of erudits which are often consulted to solve the issues of the other tribes. It is a custom for new chief of those tribes to hunt a large dragon on their own before receiving officialy their status as a leader.

Recent changes

Due to human threat, the quadris adapted their civilisation and had to compromise some of their tradition. They learned that there is a difference between leading and fighting ability. Instead of having the strongest as the chief, the role is splitted in two. The wisest who take decision, the leader, and the strongest warrior, the champion. Moreover, in case of war, some specialist are trained to take command, like Heiros who successfuly unified the quadris against the human threat. The use of weapon is becomming natural and the traditions are being questionned.

Population

The quadri population count around 63 million individual. They are divised into aproximatively 5'000 tribes or over 100'000 villages across the continent. Among them, 20 million are warriors and 43 million are civils.
