Shôka ˖ History ˖ Civilisation

A young civilisation

The quadris lived in the jungle on the north of the warm continent. They had numerous small primitive tribes working together and had a peaceful life.

Migration

This new civilization which just started to use tools and build houses was attacked by a migrating colony of dragons three centuries ago. The quadris tried to fight back, but these gigantic creatures were too powerful for them and they had no other choice than to leave their home and try their luck in the arid lands of the south. With the passing of time, the quadris managed to conquer most of the plains and build multiple tribes with a friendly rivalry.

The great droughts

One time, a great drought struck the lands and one of the three great tribes made its appearance, it helped manage the resources and distribute them to all the tribes to avoid most of them from dying. Even if they are not great warriors, their sagesse received a lot of praise and got recognized by all the tribes who survived thanks to them.

Human invasion

A new threat came from across the sea. The humans started to destroy the jungle and kill everything in their wake. Some quadris tried to fight those demonic creatures without any success. Most of them got killed or captured by the invaders and the most lucky one had to leave their homes.

Quadris union

Heiros, the chief of one of the three great tribes, traveled across the whole continent to unify the tribes to find a solution for this new threat. They learned a lot by observing their opponent, like the use of weapons, battle training and war tactics. They even started to hunt dragons in need of their bones to make weapons to pierce the human’s armors.

The food is scarce and distributed in priority to warriors and females. Moreover, with the numerous loss and uncertenity, the quadris are between fear of going berserk in war and having nowhere to escape.

First victory

After years of training, Heiros led a team to attack a human camp and free the slaves from it. It was the first victory and Heiros is praised as a hero.
