Lostria

The age of gods is an age where entities possessing magical power governed the world of Lostria, they used their power to do anything that goes through their mind and toyed with the lives of other species. Humans were well liked by them due to their complex behavior and managed to find a kind of cohabitation with them. The age ended around twenty thousand years ago, when the gods suddenly disappeared for unclear reasons, bringing with them all their relics.

After the disappearance of the gods, the dragons were left without an owner to control them. Due to their ability to grow endlessly and their extreme adaptability, they quickly became the new masters of Lostria. The other species were only prey for them and none could oppose them. even the humans only survived by hiding and living in place with poor resources. They could sometimes bring down young weakened dragons looking for their new territory, but that was the best they could do at the time.

The dragons kept growing and growing as time passed to the point earth shaked as they walked and mountains could change shape at any time. It continued until two dragons became too large for the world of Lostria and fought to know which one had to leave for a new territory, but with the whole world as a territory, an issue arose and one had to be killed. Ensured a cataclysm-like battle, bringing the world of Lostria close to destruction. The surface world got strongly remodeled, volcanoes erupted everywhere across the world, the sky became dark for years, the earth was shaking like nether before, until one day everything stopped. One finally won the fight. The winner couldn't survive either, with the world almost destroyed and with barely anything left to eat.

After the cataclysm, the world was destroyed to a point where its most inner part was fractured, since then, everywhere across the world can be found leakage of mana. They are called mana vein and mana pit and form crystal-like structures on the surface of the world. Those crystals are condensed mana and contain so much energy that they are toxic for species without magic tolerance. Moreover, with mana leaking on the surface, a lot of species developed an affinity with mana and gained magic power through it.

The humans, without anyone to oppress them this time, managed to conquer most of the continent, avoiding the mana crystals due to their bad influence on them. But there is another thing that the cataclysm revealed. The Gods didn't take everything with tem, they hid some of their relics in sealed places which have now become ruins and lost their magical protection. The different human countries rushed to collect whose relics and found they can be recharged and used with the help of mana crystals. A great war of conquest followed and ended with the founding of the great Empire.

Shortly after the millennium of the empire, a new enemy appears that threatens the whole world of Lostria. The different factions try to put their differences aside and work with the Coalition, a group wishing to establish a new society where not only humans, but all sentient beings are treated as equal. Since they have a low mobility and strong defense abilities, the empire focuses their strength in defending the central continent while the Coalition travels the world to unify the races with their higher mobility and communication tools.
